Best Hikes in Valley of Fire

Located just an hour outside of Las Vegas, Valley of Fire State Park is a unique and breathtaking destination that offers a wide range of hiking trails for all skill levels. Our recent visit to this beautiful park was filled with stunning red rock formations, mild terrain, and plenty of opportunities to explore.

We began our adventure by driving up to the White Domes parking lot and tackling the 1-mile loop trail. The gentle grade and soft sand or soil made it an easy hike for us, and we were rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. We also explored a portion of the Prospect Trail, which unfortunately is not a loop trail, but still offered some amazing scenery.

In addition to its beautiful hiking trails, Valley of Fire State Park offers plenty of amenities to make your visit comfortable and enjoyable. The campground is well-equipped with shower facilities, hook-up options, and even places to hang hammocks. We set up camp at Atlatl Campground, which was surrounded by the stunning red rock formations and made for a beautiful place to stay.

After setting up camp, we spent our days exploring the different areas of Valley of Fire, including the White Domes Loop and the Prospect Trail. The park's mild terrain makes it accessible to hikers with sneakers or Chacos, and the trails offer plenty of opportunities to take in the stunning views of the red rock formations.
